Hosted by Storrington and Arun Valley Regional Group
The River Arun dominates our local landscape and has shaped the surrounding nature and its history. The river provides an essential habitat for a wide range of species, many of which are under threat of decline. The river may still appear beautiful but it is being significantly damaged by pollution, threatening its irreplaceable environment. Be inspired to act now and help restore the health of the river.
The evening will start with a presentation by Matt Phelps of the Sussex Wildlife Trust, he will illustrate the value of our local river for Nature and teach us about its inhabitants. Keir Smith and Aimee Felus from the Western Sussex Rivers Trust will then teach us about the poor health of the river and how they hope to tackle some of the issues. The evening will close with a question and answer session with the speakers and a local parish councillor.
There will be a break for refreshments of hot and cold drinks and homemade cakes. This will give you an opportunity to meet the speakers and check out stands manned by local groups campaigning to help nature in the Arun Valley.
A fundraising raffle will be held by the Storrington and Arun Valley Regional Group of the Sussex Wildlife Trust.
DONATIONS are kindly requested to help cover costs of the meeting.
