Archaeologist washing finds

Archaeology: Saturday 29th February 10.00am-4.00pm.
Post Medieval Archaeology. “Well it isn’t that old is it?”

A day-school with Simon Stevens BA, MCIfA, Senior Archaeologist with Archaeology South-East, a division of UCL.

Simon will look at how the archaeological study of the recent past has often been seen as something of a ‘poor relation’ in the discipline – but luckily times have changed! The Post-Medieval period offers a wide range of remains both buried and in standing structures, often now backed-up by surviving documentary evidence. From burials to buttons and from privies to pill-boxes, there is plenty to look at in Sussex and beyond.

Dial Post Village Hall, Horsham Rd. RH13 8NJ, Members £16, non members £25.
