‘Woods – if they’re not broke why fix them?’ A talk by Dr Tony Whitbread.

Wednesday 23rd October 2019 at 7:30pm.

Woods have been managed for centuries. Foresters and conservationists alike generally say that this is good for woodland – a well-managed wood is good for wildlife as well as being a valuable resource. But is this really true? And if so, how did forests get along before humans started to intervene? This talk will look at management of forests on one hand, and natural processes on the other, to see how they overlap, complement or conflict with each other”

Sullington Parish Hall, Thakeham Road, Storrington, RH20 3PP.

Members £2, non-members £4. Entry includes tea/coffee and cake.
