A Talk by Steve Bird

1066, one of the most important and influential years in English history. It was a busy year – we all know about the battle of Hastings but what happened before and after the battle? The battle was in October, so Steven Bird talks us through the year, the actions and political manoeuvring. He puts the battle into context and asks whether Harold and his army should have lost the battle.

Although having a career in HR with Ford, Glaxo, Natwest & Maersk, Steve’s first love has always been military history and he had written a university dissertation on the Civil War.

Venue: Old School, School Lane, Storrington RH20 4LL.

Members £6, Non-Members £8. Pay at the door.

Teas & Coffees will be available after the talk.
