The military invasion into Ukraine in February, has caused over nine hundred civilian deaths and pushed millions of Ukrainians to flee from their homes to neighbouring countries.

To meet the increasing needs of Ukrainian families, Storrington & Pulborough District Rotary Club Members were out in force in Storrington on 5th March at their bookstall in Place Villerest and at Old Mill Square Storrington on 12th March collecting £1,456 and £1,545 respectively.

These amounts will be increased with gift aid payments and a number of separate donations.

In addition, the Rotary Club itself has donated £1,000. Collections are continuing and the final total is expected to exceed £5,000.

Rotary organiser Tony Vaughan said: “We are very grateful to all the generous residents of Storrington and surrounding villages who have donated”.
