Work party on 3rd September at 10.00am in Fryern Dell at the balancing pond to continue with the programme of clearing trees from its banks. Wellies will be a good idea. There is a therapeutic element in felling invasive species, and the enjoyment of fresh air and sociable company are bonuses. We are not exclusive, if anyone wishes to join us, a welcome awaits. Join The Lord Chamberlain’s Men this summer for Shakespeare’s sparkling, battle-of-the-sexes comedy Much Ado About Nothing, Shakespeare’s best‐loved comedy. Performed in the open air in this glorious setting, by an all-male cast with Elizabethan costume, music and dance, this is undoubtedly one of the hottest tickets of the summer.

Would you like to come out and help look after Sullington Warren?
Our conservation volunteer group will be meeting to carry out invaluable work around the site to improve habitats and conserve wildlife. We meet at Sullington Warren or Warren Hill at 10.00am have tea and coffee at 11.00 and finish at 12.00 noon.
The work is varied and includes: thinning and planting trees; coppicing; clearing footpaths, tending the heather along with many other interesting tasks. We welcome newcomers and whatever the weather the more the merrier. We supply the tools and safety equipment and the all important tea, coffee and cake!

Future Plans
We go in to the next phase of our Higher Level Stewardship scheme, in which we will look to expand the heathland element of both Warren Hill and Sullington Warren, and to change the age structure of the heather on Sullington Warren to make it more resilient to environmental threats such as the heather beetle.
We will continue to graze Old Washington Common and the Rough Land with Belted Galloway cattle and with sheep. Via the path network we will create stronger links between Warren Hill and Sullington Warren.

See all sorts of bicycles from 1800 to the present. The day includes a ride around the Museum and riders are encouraged to wear period dress (if you want to join the ride, you must book in advance as numbers are limited).
