Tapestry Day Club
Tapestry Day ClubDementia day supportNotes
Tapestry Day Club offers day care with a difference. We are a not-for-profit enterprise providing high-quality, stimulating, small-group day support for people living with early-stage dementia and in social isolation.
Our fully vetted and trained hosts welcome up to six guests into the comfort and safety of their family homes. Our mission is to create an environment where our guests feel cared for, have regular face-to-face contact with others to enable strong relationships to form, regain confidence and ultimately remain a valued member of the community.
We have found that the friendships that develop create the opportunity for our guests to talk about and support each other through their memory worries and challenges. The day also provides valuable respite for our guests’ carers.
The day includes morning and afternoon refreshments – tea, coffee, biscuits and cake – a home-cooked, two-course lunch as well as optional activities in the form of memory-boosting games.
The day costs £45 plus an additional £10 if transport is needed. All we ask of our guests is that they can get in and out of a car, manage a couple of steps into the home, look after their personal care and most importantly want to come.

Mental Health Foundation
Mental Health FoundationNotes
We are working towards a world with good mental health, and ending the inequalities that face people experiencing mental health problems, living with learning disabilities or reduced mental capacity.
We develop and run research and delivery programmes across the UK that have, for more than six decades, given us the evidence and expertise to know what works and how to intervene earlier.
We use what we learn to help everyone by offering straightforward and clear information on every aspect of mental health and learning disabilities.
Our advice also helps people help the people they care about too – in their families, their communities or their work. We influence policymakers and advocate for changes in services, using firm evidence and the voices of people with direct experience of the issues.
We are prepared to “speak truth to power” and to campaign on the issues that affect public mental health and wellbeing and the lives of people who have, or are close to someone with a learning disability. We aim to inspire the development of a society free from stigma and discrimination, where everyone can achieve their potential to flourish and thrive.
Mind – for better mental health
Mind – for better mental healthWest SussexNotes
We are a local mental health charity providing help and support to local people and their families in West Sussex.
Respecting the needs and rights of individuals to have control of their lives, we aim to empower people with mental health needs to be as independent as possible and help them to benefit from optimum support and activities in their community
We offer help to people on their road to recovery and support them to lead a fulfilling life within their community. People are offered help and advice on:
Improving their physical health and mental wellbeing
Strengthening their self-esteem and self-confidence.
Building strong relationships with family, friends and communities
Learning new skills and ways of solving problems
Getting into education, training and work
Achieving their personal and social goals
We work hard to tackle the stigma and discrimination which continue to affect the lives of people with mental health problems. We believe that by challenging destructive prejudice, we can help to improve the experience of people with mental health problems in their local communities.
