Kenagi Academy of Martial ArtsVarious local venues: see website Contact: Brian RedmanNotes
The Kenagi Academy offers a wide range of martial art knowledge. Under the guidance of Sensei Brian Redman a student will learn Karate disciplines across a whole range of styles. These styles will include Wado Ryu, Shotokan, Shito Ryu, Jujitsu, Aikido and Kickboxing. Kenagi is an open style Karate-Do and Kobu-Do group, which provides practical training in hand disciplines and weapons.
There is inevitably a feeling of trepidation when you decide to take the plunge and start on your journey to learn Karate.
You may well have seen a demonstration by our students and have felt that although you would love to be able to do what they do, you couldn’t in a million years. The truth is that these feelings are completely understandable but reassuringly untrue. Because the group has always enjoyed a regular intake of students of all ages there is an infrastructure established that will guide you easily through your first steps. You will have the opportunity at all times to ask the questions you may have and discuss the likely path for you within the group.
Students are regularly assessed on their mental attitude as well as their physical development. Learning a Martial Art is more than just mastering kicks and punches, it is also about personal development. As they progress to an advanced level, students must demonstrate a mature attitude, a high level of discipline and respect, and a willingness to help others. Each stage must be mastered to a high standard before progress can be made.

Why is it different? Because there is NO membership fee, NO committee (to tell you what to do) and NO regular agenda. You just visit the website to see where we are meeting next (usually a pub) for a chat between like minded individuals. Bring along your pride and joy if you want and show it off to other sadcases, or just bring yourself along for a chat.
