Public Transport

Storrington is served by several bus companies with routes to all main local towns and transport hubs.  However, bus services are rather infrequent so journeys and connections need to be planned.  The nearest railway stations are at Pulborough and Amberley, both on the Southern railways Mainline West route between London and the towns of Southampton, Portsmouth, Chichester, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton.

PLAN YOUR JOURNEY

Traveline provides comprehensive information for all public transport services in the area. You don’t need to know anything about the public transport system – you can look things up for any location using a postcode, an address, the name of town or village, or the name of an attraction (a point of interest) … or just by selecting a point on a map. But you can also use the name of a stop or station too, if you want to!

It also offers door-to-door journey planning across the whole of England, Scotland and Wales. You can view all information on screen – or download most of it in a PDF file for printing.

BUS SERVICES

As well as standard public transport routes there are also Free Shopper Buses to local out-of-town superstores like Tesco at Broadbridge Heath or the Holmbush Centre at Shoreham. Like the other services, the timetables for these are available on Traveline. Select Find A Timetable, enter your location (e.g. Storrington) and you will find all relevant bus service time-tables.  The Plan A Journey feature works out the best connections with the bus services like Metrobus which are not available in Storrington, but may need to be part of your journey.  It also indicates which buses are wheelchair accessible.

TRAIN SERVICES

The nearest stations, Amberley and Pulborough, are on the part of Southern’s Mainline West route known as the Arun Valley Line.  It provides a link between the Sussex coast and Gatwick Airport to London and beyond, crossing right through the centre of the South Downs National Park. It provides rail access to Arundel, Pulborough and Billingshurst, the employment and shopping centres of Horsham, Crawley and Chichester, and the coastal resorts of Bognor Regis and Littlehampton.  Please note that most trains stop at Pulborough, but fewer stop at Amberley. The time-table for this line is Southern No. 16
