Lancing Mighty Mites Celebration

Free play day to thank the community for its support

Impulse Leisure has transformed the soft play facilities for young children and their families at its Lancing Manor centre after securing £7,200 in funding. Now, to celebrate the launch of the new facilities, it is hosting a free play day.
Catering for babies through to five year olds, Mighty Mites is a parent and toddler drop-in session offering a variety of play equipment including bouncy castles, soft play, ball-pool, bikes and trikes in the comfort of a heated hall. Running six days a week, the low-cost sessions provide an important service for local families.

Mighty Mites is a hugely popular service, but with approximately 10,000 visits to Lancing Manor every week, the 20-year-old play equipment was becoming tired and worn.

At the end of last year, Impulse Leisure reached out to the local community asking members of the public for their vote to help secure funding from the Aviva Community Fund to replace the equipment and to make the play experience more inviting, interactive and safe.

And the community responded, showing their support for this much-loved service helping to ensure that Mighty Mites was one of more than 450 projects nationwide to benefit from the fund.

To celebrate the launch of the new equipment and to say thank you to the local community for its support, Impulse Leisure is hosting a FREE play day. Parents and carers are invited to bring their little ones along to try the new soft play equipment, bikes, trikes and matting as well as the inflatable go kart track, bouncy castle and ball pool.

“Mighty Mites is a vital service for local families living in one of the most deprived areas of West Sussex. We’re so grateful for the support of the local community in helping us to secure this funding so that we can continue to offer affordable play sessions in a safe and supportive environment,” says Stuart James, Centre Manager at Lancing Manor.

The play day takes place on Friday 15th September from 09:00 to 14:30. For more information, please contact the reception at Lancing Manor on 01903 524624.
