Would you like to come out and help look after Sandgate Park?
Our conservation volunteer group will be meeting to carry out invaluable work around the site to improve habitats and conserve wildlife. We meet at 10.00am by the bench next to the path by the heather coming in from the Sandgate Lane entrance have tea and coffee at 11.00 and finish at 12.00 noon.
We will be working to clear footpaths of invasive plants such as rhododendron and bamboo as well tackling new birch seedlings and clearing around valuable specimen trees to ensure that they have enough growing space. We welcome newcomers and whatever the weather the more the merrier! We supply the equipment and thanks to a grant and donations we have splendid new safety equipment and the all important tea, coffee and cake!
Please look on our website for ongoing information about work parties and special projects that we undertake from time to time. www.sandgate-conservation.org.uk
