Would you like to come out and help look after Sullington Warren?
Our conservation volunteer group will be meeting to carry out invaluable work around the site to improve habitats and conserve wildlife. We meet at Sullington Warren or Warren Hill at 10.00am have tea and coffee at 11.00 and finish at 12.00 noon.
The work is varied and includes: thinning and planting trees; coppicing; clearing footpaths, tending the heather along with many other interesting tasks. We welcome newcomers and whatever the weather the more the merrier. We supply the tools and safety equipment and the all important tea, coffee and cake!

Future Plans
We go in to the next phase of our Higher Level Stewardship scheme, in which we will look to expand the heathland element of both Warren Hill and Sullington Warren, and to change the age structure of the heather on Sullington Warren to make it more resilient to environmental threats such as the heather beetle.
We will continue to graze Old Washington Common and the Rough Land with Belted Galloway cattle and with sheep. Via the path network we will create stronger links between Warren Hill and Sullington Warren.
BYGONE MILLS HERITAGE TRAIL
A circular stroll, starting and ending at the Museum, visiting the sites of bygone wind and water mills for National Mills weekend. The walks will take the form of a nostalgic heritage trail to link up the sites of the wind and watermills around Storrington. Regret no dogs.
Walks start at 10.30am or 2pm for an amble of 2-3 miles maximum (with options to bail out along the way). Refreshments at the museum all day 10-4pm.
Watermill Site Open House
Very little remains of this old corn watermill at Hurston open to the public for the first time. Parking and refreshments available. Regret no dogs.
This is a picturesque corner on the River Stor where an overshot corn watermill existed between 1042 and 1911.
Parking is available at the site on Hurston Lane RH20 2EW and refreshments will be available throughout the day.
The Storrington Duck Race is well recognised as THE most fun packed event in the Storrington Social Calendar.
This year’s Duck Race will be held on Sunday 12th May 2019
Excitement ensues as Julia Donaldson CBE, prize-winning author of some of the world’s best-loved picture books including The Gruffalo, former Children’s Laureate and patron of Horsham District Year of Culture, will be opening this year’s event.
Be there from 12.00 to be in with a chance to win the cash prizes.
Other entertainment includes the ever popular BBQ and local band Rocket Rockit.

Please join our Storrington In Bloom monthly work party, meeting on the third Wednesday of the month at 2.30pm. We will be weeding and maintaining the various flower beds throughout the village.
We meet at the area in the Waitrose car park outside Mr Chips. Bring any tools you think might be useful.
