In our first regional event, Tony Whitbread will be giving a talk on the history of the Sussex Wildlife Trust and what its future holds. The event, which is for members of the Sussex Wildlife Trust, will be held at the Trinity Centre in Storrington.
The ticket price covers entrance and refreshments. Seating will be socially distanced, masks will be optional, the premises thoroughly cleaned before/after and sanitiser provided. With covid restrictions, seats are limited so make sure to book asap.
We will welcome arrivals from 6:30 PM, so please come early to meet the committee, see our displays, visit the 2nd hand book stall, get your refreshments and be seated for a 7:30 PM start.
There are approximately 40 parking spaces around the hall, but we encourage you to share lifts as some spaces are tight. If you have any additional needs for access and seating then please contact us in advance using the group’s email address.
Finally, with Tony Whitbread on the stage and this being the first group meeting, we are looking forward to a lively and interesting discussion session as part of this event. If you cannot join us or wish to ask a question in advance, then please send this to the group’s email address and we’ll either cover it on the night or respond separately if time does not allow.

Storrington Community Partnership is putting on this Volunteering Show again this year at the Chanctonbury Leisure Centre, Spierbridge Road, Storrington. It will be held on Saturday 9th October, 10.00 – 13.30. Admission is free and refreshments will be available in the Leisure Centre’s café.
There are many local community groups and joining one can offer a range of benefits such as making new friends, learning new skills, having fun, feeling useful or even getting exercise and enjoying the fresh air!
Many local voluntary groups are seeking new volunteers to maintain or expand their activities, be they social, environmental or of a service nature: over 25 local groups, ranging from Conservation Volunteers and Speedwatch through to the Storrington Area Responder Team and the Community Bus will display their activities, give information about their work and have members on hand to explain what is involved.
Storrington has a great deal to offer all its residents, whether they be young or old, new to the area or are simply looking for a new challenge. Its website, www.storrington.org.uk offers a wealth of information and contacts for every aspect of its community.
Anyone who has an interest in their local community, and wants to learn about how they can contribute to its range of opportunities will be very welcome!
We look forward to meeting you!
The aim of Repair Cafes is to encourage mending items so they are not thrown away needlessly. This will reduce what goes to landfill by Reusing, Repairing and, as a last resort, Recycling.
The Repair Cafe opens on Saturday, 16th October, from 10am – 12 noon, and will take place once a month.
