The tale of a rescue excavation and watching brief on private land at Edburton between 2018 and 2021. During the creation of a new fishing lake linear chalk blocks were noticed beneath a thick layer of peat, which has since led to a large range of artefacts emerging from the boggy ground.
Hints of a substantial Romano-British structure or settlement have been revealed – but much mystery remains…!

A joyous concert by Sandgate Singers on 21st November 2021 of Haydn’s Nelson Mass together with some favourite choral classics: Mozart’s “Ave Verum”, Franck’s “Panis Angelicus”, Stainer’s “God so loved the World” and Mendelssohn’s “Hear my Prayer”.

Every Tuesday from 7pm to 8pm we meet online via Zoom to discuss topics of interest or campaigns.

Sandgate Conservation Society Talk: “Reimagining the Commons” by Tony Whitbread.
The talk will take place on Wednesday 24th November at 7:30pm at Storrington and Sullington Parish Hall, Thakeham Road, RH20 3PP. This thought-provoking talk by the President of Sussex Wildlife Trust will challenge what you thought you knew and help you see how a different model of ownership of natural resources could result in more sustainable use.
Free entrance. Sorry, no refreshments at this talk.
