Wednesday, 17th August, 10:30am. Storrington Riverside Walk. Level 1 2.5 miles, 90 mins.
Walk 1507. Meet at Storrington Recreation Ground Car Park, RH20 4PG. Come and explore Storrington’s Riverside Walk. This flat, well surfaced walk is ideal for people who want an easy walk with pleasant views. Suitable for children’s buggies. Dogs welcome, no stiles/hills. Refreshments provided. Mick 01903 745971

Saturday, 20th August, 2.00pm. Under The Downs. Level 2, 3.6 miles, 1.75 hour.
Walk 2037. Meet at Storrington Rec. Ground Car Park, RH20 4BG. This is short walk from Storrington towards the bottom of the South Downs escarpment, it then returns via the Church and Glebe Meadow. Dogs welcome. Contact Mick Denness on 01903 745971 or email mick.denness@waitrose.com

Sunday, 21st August, 10.00am. Washington, Buncton, Rock Common. Level 3, 5.5miles, 2.5hrs.
Walk 3165. A most charming and scenic walk with woodland, open fields, and farmland. Including great views of Chanctonbury Ring, the 11thC. All Saints Church at Buncton, Upper Chancton Farm, and the Rock Common sand pit. Refreshments provided after the walk. Dogs welcome on leads. Meet at the Frankland Arms, Washington, RH20 4AL

Thursday, 25th August, 10:00am. West Chiltington (1). Level 2, 4 – 5 miles, 2 hrs.
Walk 2082. Meet in the public car park adjacent to West Chiltington Village Hall, Mill Rd, RH20 2PZ, (TQ083179). Various routes exploring West Chiltington and the surrounding area. Moderate slopes, some stiles, no dogs please as a number of the routes pass through fields with livestock. Sue 01403 255710

Saturday, 27th August, 2.00pm. Sandgate Park & Sullington Warren. Level 2, 3.6 miles, 1.75. hours
Walk 2041. Meet at Storrington Rec. Ground car park RH20 4BG. This walk offers visits to two wonderful areas very close to Storrington. Both are managed for public enjoyment and nature conservation. This year the Library’s Summer Reading Challenge is called ‘Gadgeteers’ and it has an exciting science and innovation theme!

The children’s challenge is to choose and read some amazing library books over the holidays –  and they get to collect a bag full of goodies, including a fold-out poster and smelly stickers! Take a visit to the library – there are fun activities there, including a Character Hunt with a chance of entering a prize draw.

If the children complete the challenge by Saturday 10th September, they are rewarded with a medal and certificate. It’s free to take part and children just need to visit the library with a library card to become a Gadgeteer (to get a library card visit the library with a parent or carer with a proof of address).
