NATURE RECOVERY AT A TIME OF CRISIS

Joins us for a public meeting on the Wilder Horsham District project at 19.00 on Friday 10th November at Pulborough Village Hall RH20 2BF.

Learn about the 5 year project a partnership between Sussex Wildlife Trust and Horsham District Council whose aim is to work closely with local communities and landowners to reverse the decline in wildlife by creating and connecting habitats to deliver a Nature Recovery Network for the Horsham District.

Droughts, Deluges and Dust-Devils – 350 years of Weather in Sussex and the Southeast“: a Talk by Ian Currie

The talk will be preceded by the Annual General Meeting at 10.00am

From 7-metre high snowdrifts, cricket ball sized hail, blazing summers to violent tornadoes or devastating floods, Ian, a Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society, was for many years a weatherman on Telewest TV, presented ‘Weather Watch‘ on BBC Southern Counties, appearing on BBC South ‘Inside Out Series‘ and ‘The One Show‘ as well as a host of other TV and radio shows and has written or co-written over twenty books, mostly about the weather.

This as an Arun Valley u3a Open meeting and is FREE and open to non-members.

u3a is for retired people providing groups for like-minded people to pursue interests in common locally during the daytime. u3a has many facets, continued learning, comradeship, fun, mental stimulation, overcoming loneliness, sharing skills and knowledge.
Basic yearly membership is only £10 to cover administration. Some groups have a small extra charge to cover hall costs.

Current Arun Valley u3a Interest Groups:
Art Appreciation, Ballet and Dance Appreciation, 3 Book Circles, BBC (Bus, Beer and Chat), Coffee and Conversation Group, Croquet, Film Circle, Flowers and Gardens, 2 French Conversation Groups, Guitar Group, History and Discussion, Luncheon Group, Music Appreciation, Natural History, Opera Appreciation, Poetry Group, Science and Technology, 2 Spanish Conversation groups, Table Tennis and 2 Walking Groups.

Possible new groups: Scrabble, Mahjong, Improv, and more.
