Storrington Traffic Meeting image

STORRINGTON TRAFFIC GROUP

Huge thanks to all the people who joined us for a well-attended and hugely positive meeting at Storrington Village Hall on 17th January. You had some great ideas!

We managed to capture all your possible short, medium and long term solutions to Storrington’s Traffic problems. We’ve collated your ideas and will be sharing them at our next meeting, which will be on:

20th March at 7.30pm at Storrington Village Hall.

We do hope you can join us.

So we can keep track of numbers, we’d be grateful if you could send us an email saying who will be attending please. The meeting is a public one, so please do share with friends and neighbours, but if they’d like to join us, please either include their names in your email or ask them to email us at StorringtonTrafficGroup@gmail.com so we can add them to our mailing list. Everyone is welcome.

We’ve made some great progress over the past few weeks which we’ll share at the meeting.
One development we’d like to share is that we have now set up a partnership of interested groups so we can work better together for the good of Storrington.

We are delighted to announce the formation of the Storrington Traffic Organisations Partnership (STOP!) – the details of the partners and its exact remit are still to be agreed! STOP have been meeting most weeks since January and are making some real progress.

A Storrington Traffic Facebook Group to engage with residents, gather evidence and share experiences has been set up – you can join it here:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/2964128787080776

We’ve also set regular dates for STG meetings to put in your diaries till July – our next STG meetings, all at Storrington Village Hall, will be at 7.30pm on:

18th April 2024
15th May 2024
20th June 2024
10th July 2024

We’ll reassess the need and start up again in September if necessary.

We hope to see you on 20th March so we can keep on making progress.

Best wishes,
Storrington Traffic Group

Sandgate Conservation Morning at Sandgate Park @ Sandgate Park
Mar 23 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Conservation morning at Sandgate Park – Saturday 23rd March 2024 at 10am

Come along and help take care of this Local Wildlife Site. Usual tasks include cutting back the invasive Rhododendron Ponticum, clearing paths, clearing the streams and other work using hand tools.

Tools are provided but it is recommended that you bring your own gloves (though if you forget gloves should be available). Also, please bring your own refreshment for the mid-morning break.

We usually meet at the old bench opposite the heather mound on the path from the gate into the park partway up Sandgate Lane, opposite the cut through from Hillside Road (what3words bench location is approximately mulls.splice.dislikes ) . Please be prompt as if we have moved on to our worksite by the time you have arrived you may find it difficult to find us.

Please check our website or our Facebook page before you set out on the day in case the meeting place has changed and in case of cancellation (e.g. due to bad weather).

Note that Sandgate Park is the wooded area owned and managed by Horsham District Council, not the grassland area, owned and managed by CEMEX.

We work until noon with a short break at around 11am.

All welcome – you do not have to be a member of Sandgate Conservation Society (though we will probably try to persuade you to join). Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult unless agreed in advance with the Society (this is for health & safety and insurance reasons).
