Storrington Dramatic Society are proud to present this 1942 St Louis Municipal Opera (MUNY) musical adaptation of “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” by L. Frank Baum and the 1939 film, The Wizard of Oz.
Using much of the original film score The Wizard of Oz tells the story of a teenage girl, Dorothy, who lives on a farm in Kansas. After being swept away by a tornado to Munchkin land in the Land of Oz, Dorothy must travel to see the great Wizard of Oz in order to get home. Along the way she meets a Scarecrow who wants a brain, a Tin man without a heart and a cowardly Lion. The four quickly become friends and travel to see the great Oz to fulfil their respective wishes. Along the way, Dorothy and her three friends must battle lions, bears, fantastical jitterbugs, skeletons and wicked witches.
Performances are on 21st, 22nd, 24th and 25th June 2016 at Sullington Parish Hall.
There will be a matinee show on Saturday 25th June.
