Despite (or maybe in spite of!) Covid 19 our WI is still open for business! We have been meeting each month using zoom. Our next meeting is on Wednesday 21st October where our speaker will be zooming in from Lancashire.
New members are always welcome and there is a special offer if you join now £10.75 which will take you up to the end of March 2021. (Usually £43pa for a full year.) We have welcomed some new members this year, but more would always be most welcome. We also have an active walking group which meets on the second Tuesday in the month; groups of 6, to comply with Government guidelines.
Further meetings are on 18th November which is our annual meeting with a scavenger hunt! For Christmas our meeting will meet on the second Wednesday 9th December which will be a Party night, with an entertainer and much more. Two further zoom meetings are being organised for 21st January and the 18th February.
During lockdown and subsequently our members and other ladies in the village have been knitting and crocheting poppies which will be displayed in Place de Villerest from 26th October until 11th November. A huge thank you to all those who have contributed. We hope that you will like the display and feel motivated to donate to The Royal British Legion who do so much to support serving and ex-serving personnel and their families.
