Storringtonians will recall the wonderful inaugural Stork & Nature Revival Festival in May 2025.
The fair was successfully hosted by the Storrington & Sullington Parish Council to celebrate Storrington becoming a European Stork Village together with Knepp Wildland.
Things have not stood still since last year’s festival, and the white storks are now enjoying balmy weather in northern Africa and the Continent. Read more here from Laura – Knepp’s White Stork Project .
Closer to home we welcome the storks flying across our skies. ‘Estorchetone’ is Storrington’s old English name and means homestead with storks. We have been putting our heads together on a proposed stork art mural to adorn Place Villerest. This is within the Conservation area and was chosen as it links in well with the existing historic town centre with its stork emblem.
A full planning application was submitted to the Horsham District Planning Department (Ref. DC/25/2105).
Also make a note of Saturday 23rd May 2026 for the next Stork & Nature Revival Festival coming to the Chanctonbury Leisure Centre.
