About Pulborough Shedders
We are a diverse group of local people. We regularly meet up and help each other out with projects, whatever they may be. Anyone over the age of 18 is very welcome to join us, socialise and offer or receive advice in relation to projects. We also welcome anyone who just wants to come and have a chat over a tea or coffee.
We meet between 09.30 and 12.30 on Wednesdays and Fridays and are recruiting members from throughout the RH20 postcode.
We work together and use our collective practical, hands-on skills and life experiences to problem solve, coach and assist each other with whatever project anyone wants to bring to the Shed. Levels of hands-on experience vary wildly. Experience is not important. The atmosphere is very laid back and we want to keep it that way. The benefits of the group include having some fun in good company, supporting each other and maybe learning some new skills or passing on existing skills.
We welcome everyone (not just men!), so don’t be put off when you hear that we are members of the UK Men’s Sheds Association. We are there for all. ‘Men’s Sheds’ is an international organisation set up originally in Australia in the 1990’s to help alleviate isolation amongst men, possibly caused by loneliness, retiring from work, bereavement or a host of other potential reasons. The movement has grown rapidly in many countries. This is a tribute to how effective the basic concept is. After all it really isn’t Rocket Science. We just get together, help each other out and have some fun. Today there are over 670 Men’s Sheds in the UK alone!

Membership
The first couple of visits are free. See what you think. If you decide that Shedding is for you, then we ask that you become a member. Our membership year runs from January to December. We ask for a minimum donation of £30 per year for membership. We suggest a donation as opposed to a fixed fee because we are a registered charity and can therefore reclaim 25% of the donation under the Gift Aid scheme. We also ask for a minimum donation of £2 per session to cover costs for tea, coffee and materials used.
