Sussexdown Christmas Fayre @ Sussexdown Care Home

Sussexdown Christmas FayreSussexdown care home is inviting everyone to its annual Christmas fayre on Saturday 7th December, from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.

Organised by the Friends of Sussexdown, all proceeds from the fayre will be going to the Residents’ Amenity Fund.

At the fayre, there will be a range of stalls, providing plenty of inspiration for Christmas presents. There will also be a grand raffle and plenty of Christmas cheer for everyone to enjoy! Refreshments will include afternoon tea and mince pies.

Sussexdown is a beautifully maintained country care home in Storrington, run by the not-for-profit organisation Care South. Formerly a Royal Air Force Association home, the Friends of Sussexdown group regularly holds fundraising events to support activities, entertainment and outings for the residents, many of whom are RAF veterans.

Exhibition: “BUSES STOP HERE” – public transport through the 20th century – particularly Southdown Buses.

Saturday, 28th September to Wednesday, 11th December at Storrington Museum.

Bus travel has long played a part in Storrington’s transport, from the early days of the horse and motor buses to the present – we are on Route No 1 and Storrington’s old bus garage has been re-erected nearby at Amberley Industrial Museum.

Note that the Museum is open every Wednesday and Saturday between 10 am and 4 pm, and on Sunday between 10 am and 1 pm.

Sunday 8 December 10:00am Harrow Hill 6.5 miles 3 hrs.

Walk 3035. Venturing along the South Downs Way and deep into the Angmering Park Estate, taking in Harrow Hill and Lee Farm. Hills and stiles. Great views. Dogs welcome and refreshments provided at the end of the walk. Meet at Kithurst Hill carpark. Drive from Tesco’s roundabout Storrington towards Amberley along the B2139 and after 1.3 miles turn left. Drive to the very top of the hill.
