Family-focused coffee morning for expectant parents and parents with a new baby.
Older siblings are welcome.

Come along to this supportive group and connect with others in the community over a cup of tea or coffee.

This year the Library’s Summer Reading Challenge is called ‘Gadgeteers’ and it has an exciting science and innovation theme!

The children’s challenge is to choose and read some amazing library books over the holidays –  and they get to collect a bag full of goodies, including a fold-out poster and smelly stickers! Take a visit to the library – there are fun activities there, including a Character Hunt with a chance of entering a prize draw.

If the children complete the challenge by Saturday 10th September, they are rewarded with a medal and certificate. It’s free to take part and children just need to visit the library with a library card to become a Gadgeteer (to get a library card visit the library with a parent or carer with a proof of address).

There will be lots of toys for the kids to play with, fun crafts, story & song time as well as a bouncy castle.

Tea and coffee will be served to adults and a drink and snack for the toddlers.

Entry is £1 per child and if it is your first time it is free!

There is NO need to book in advance.

In our Fireworks Kids Club we aim to create an environment outside of school where the kids can come have fun, be safe, learn, and meet their friends. We will be playing loads of games with a different theme each week. This club is aimed at children in School Year 3 (7 years old) to Year 5 (10 Years old).

Saturday 3rd September 2.00pm Washington Common & Rodell Level 2, 3.5 miles, 1.5 hours. Walk 2161. Please note the new meeting place for this walk. We are parking in Old London Road (the street by the old Chardonnay Restaurant). RH20 3BN. To reach this drive north up the A24 from the Washington Roundabout take the first left and then sharp left again into Old London Road. Dogs welcome. Mick Denness on 01903 745971

Walk 3017. Meet at Pulborough Library car park, RH20 2BQ. This walk has two distinct elements, firstly the farmed landscape to the north of Pulborough, then the RSPB’s Pulborough Brooks Nature Reserve. Dogs welcome. Mick Denness on 01903 745971

A very pretty walk exploring woodland, farmland, and open country, with stunning views of Chanctonbury Ring. Washington Common, Ashington, Trickles Wood, Wiston, Rock Common, and Warren Hill. Stiles. Refreshments provided. Dogs welcome. Meet at Georges Lane car park: on the A283 Storrington Road from Washington roundabout, turn right at Clayton Farm. Mick Denness 01903 745971

Saturday 17th September 2.00pm Fryern Park Level 2, 3 miles,1.25 hours.
Meet at Storrington Rec car park, RH20 4BG. This lovely short walk offers uninterrupted views towards the South Downs as route goes through Fryern Park with its landscaped pleasure gardens and waterfall. Includes 5 stiles. Dogs welcome. Mick Denness on 01903 745971

Sunday 18th September 10.00am Arundel to Amberley Circular Level 3, 7.5 miles, 3.5 hours. Walk 3174. Meet at Swanbourne Lake, BN18 9PA. A glorious walk, with stunning views, that takes us along the banks of the River Arun and over the Gurkha bridge towards Amberley, returning via part of the Monarch’s Way through Arundel Park back to the start point. Some stiles, couple of hills, one steep descent. Meet at Swanbourne Lake, Arundel. Parking on road by Wildlife Centre or in Mill Road. Refreshments provided. Mick Denness 01903 745971

Wednesday 21st September 10:30am Storrington Riverside Walk Level 1, 2.5 miles, 90 mins. Walk 1507. Meet at Storrington Recreation Ground Car Park, RH20 4PG. Come and explore Storrington’s Riverside Walk. This flat, well surfaced walk is ideal for people who want an easy walk with pleasant views. Suitable for children’s buggies. Dogs welcome, no stiles/hills. Refreshments provided. Mick 01903 745971

Walk 2037. Meet at Storrington Rec car park, RH20 4BG. This is short walk from Storrington towards the bottom of the South Downs escarpment, it then returns via the Church and Glebe Meadow. Dogs welcome. Mick Denness on 01903 745971

Sunday 25th September 10.00am Figure of Eight Level 3, 3 miles, 1.5 hours.
Walk 3033. Meet at Kithurst Hill car park, TQ070124. This is a health walk which enables walkers to enjoy the beauty of the South Downs in an easy and relaxed way. The Car Park at the top of Chantry Lane. The walk is level and has no steep hills. Dogs welcome. Mick Denness on 01903 745971

Walk 2082. Meet in the public car park adjacent to West Chiltington Village Hall, Mill Rd, RH20 2PZ, (TQ083179). Various routes exploring West Chiltington and the surrounding area. Moderate slopes, some stiles, no dogs please as a number of the routes pass through fields with livestock. Sue 01403 255710
