Croquet has been played at West Chiltington since 1977 and WEST CHILTINGTON CROQUET CLUB was formed as an independent club in 1995. Our members are a familiar sight playing on the grounds of the playing fields adjacent to the Village Hall and part of the Sports Association.
Come and find out more about this challenging game at our special taster sessions, to be held at 1.45 p.m. on Wednesdays, 16th May; 20th June; 18th July, and discover the basic technique and tactics under guidance. Free tea and cakes are included in the Pavilion at the end of the session. All equipment is provided. Please wear flat shoes and meet by the sheds in the Car Park adjacent to the Recreation Ground.
In addition to these special sessions you are very welcome to come along, at no charge, to join us at one of our hosted sessions. You will be able to join in a game, with friendly help, whether or not you are familiar with the game of croquet, from April 16th through September on Mondays at 9.45 a.m., Wednesdays at 1.45 p.m. and Fridays at 9.45 a.m.
In addition to the regular hosted sessions, our members play friendly matches against local clubs; attend coaching sessions and enjoy social events together throughout the year, with a winter programme giving members the opportunity to keep in touch out of season. We are able to make regular use of the facility afforded by the wonderful new Pavilion. For more information call John on 01798 368941 or email wchiltcroquet@gmail.com.
