Glebe Surgery moves to new building 28 February to 3 March

Letter to patients from Dr. Newsom

8 January 2020

Dear Glebe Surgery Patient

Once again, I would like to thank you for all the support you have provided to the surgery throughout 2019.

As I am sure many of you are aware, we have continued to work in cramped, unsuitable premises for some time. I am also sure that few of you will have failed to notice the major building project that has been ongoing behind our current premises.

I am delighted to be able to inform you that we will be moving out of our current premises on Friday, 28 February 2020 and reopening in our new premises on
Tuesday, 3 March 2020.

Although all of us who work at the Glebe Surgery are very excited about this move, we are under no false pretences about how challenging it will be. The time period we have between closing the current surgery and opening the new surgery is exceptionally short and very technical. It is likely that there may be some disruption to patient services. However, we aim to minimise this as much as is possible.

In order to allow us the time and space to facilitate our move, the staff of the
Glebe Surgery will not be available to patients after 12 pm on Friday, 28 February 2020 until 8.30 on Tuesday, 3 March 2020. We encourage people, if at all possible, not to book routine appointments too close to this time.

After 12 pm on Friday, 28 February 2020, Innovations in Primary Care will be providing a Doctor and Nurse Service for urgent problems on behalf of the Glebe Surgery. This will continue until 6.30 pm on Friday and resume between 8 am and 6.30 pm on Monday, 2 March 2020. The Clinicians providing this Service will have appropriate access to patients’ medical records and be able to care for you as needed. It is important to remember during these times that advice will be available via NHS 111 and there are GP Access Hub appointments available on Saturday, 29 February 2020. Please see our website for further details on how to access these.

I would like to apologise to my patients in advance, as I will not be available to see patients throughout February 2020, until after we have opened the new surgery. Many of you will know that I have been significantly involved in the project that will culminate in the new Glebe Surgery being opened. I am sure you can appreciate the amount of work required to be done completing this project is significant. During this period Dr David Whitehead and Dr Amy Garrett will be caring for you and I am very grateful to them for their support.

The new Glebe Surgery will have a new address. This will be:

The Glebe Surgery
The Glebe
Storrington
Pulborough
West Sussex
RH20 4FR

It is important to note that our contact telephone number will not be changing and will remain as 01903 742942.

Once again, please accept my sincerest “Thank You” for the support and encouragement you have provided the Glebe Surgery and its staff in the past 5 years, which have been challenging for both yourselves and us.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Glebe Surgery’s new premises on
Tuesday, 3 March 2020.

It will bring me great pleasure to open a first class medical facility that Storrington and the surrounding villages very much deserves.

Yours sincerely

Dr Keir Newsom

The Glebe Surgery
