Help us help local families
Vote now to secure funding for toddlers’ play facilities
Thousands of pounds are up for grabs for local children and their families, but we need your help to get it.
Impulse Leisure, the charitable organisation that provides leisure and recreation services for the local community, needs your vote to secure funding to drastically improve its facilities for young children and their families.
The not-for-profit organisation runs the highly popular Mighty Mites soft play sessions at its Lancing Manor centre. Catering for babies through to five year olds, the sessions are the ideal environment for little ones to play and have fun while developing their physical, mental and communication skills in a safe environment while their parents and guardians watch on.
The low cost Mighty Mites sessions run six days a week and provide an important service for local families living in one of the most deprived areas in West Sussex.
With approximately 10,000 visits to Lancing Manor every week, the soft play equipment is beginning to get tired and worn. Impulse Leisure has now applied for funding from the Aviva Community Fund to replace the tired matting, broken bikes and trikes, and to improve the 20-year-old soft play items to make the experience more inviting, interactive and safe.
“By upgrading the soft play and toys, we will be able to dramatically improve the facilities we offer for local families giving us more scope to help young children develop their motor and social skills while being physically active,” says centre manager, Stuart James.
If successful in securing the funding, Impulse Leisure will host an open day for the local community with free use of the new toys and soft play equipment as well as complimentary nutritional advice from qualified instructors.
