The “Heritage Trails Project” has developed a series of “self guided” walks based around our local towns, villages and countryside.
Each Trail is dedicated to a different area of the Horsham District and includes sites of special interest and stories from all eras of the area’s past. There are Heritage Trails that can be walked from Storrington! PDF leaflets describing the walks are available to download from the Horsham Museums website. Soon the leaflets will also be available in local libraries.
The Heritage Trails Project has also produced a booklet aimed at assisting other groups and societies who might seek to develop their own, similar heritage trail projects. This “Heritage Trails Resource Kit” will soon to be made available in Horsham District Libraries but can also be downloaded from the Horsham Museum Website.
(Please remember that COVID-19 restrictions may affect your exercise plans and you should check Government regulations on exercise currently in force).
The Heritage Trails Project is supported by Horsham District Council and the trails themselves were developed by Horsham District Community Partnerships Forum with the assistance of local volunteers co-ordinated by Storrington Community Partnership. The Project was made possible by National Lottery Heritage Funding.
There are also four other local walks prepared by the Storrington Community Partnership.
