A New Choir in Storrington
A dementia friendly choir starts on Wednesday 30th August at Trinity Methodist Church, Thakeham Road, Storrington RH20 3NG.
Led by cognitive stimulation therapist Ric Gray, the session runs from 1030-1200 with time allowed for a cup of tea or coffee and a chance to make friends before the singing starts.
The choir is aimed at people aged 55 or over who are experiencing memory problems, but is open to all. No auditions, no sheet music, just good fun! The sessions are most informal and we don’t take ourselves too seriously. The songs we sing are well known across different genres and we use a screen to display the lyrics and have accompanying backing tracks.
The choir will meet monthly initially. Future dates fixed are: 27th September, 1st and 29th November.
