On Sunday, 8 November 2026, Storrington & Sullington Parish Council will host the Remembrance Sunday Event, a very special annual occasion.
This event starts with a parade of veterans, cadets, scouts and girl guides together with horses, military vehicles, and a marching band.
Everyone involved in the march gathers at Old Mill Drive and from 2.30pm proceeds down to and along the High Street and takes a left turn up Church Street to St Mary’s Church. Here wreaths will be laid by the Parish Council and the Reverend Jonathan Swindells, who will lead a two-minutes’ silence. A Remembrance Sunday Service will follow.
There will be brief rolling road closures during the march and the wreath-laying and silence outside the church.
The Parish Council would like to recognise the important role undertaken by Kristian Bowbrick who established and ran this event in the village for 10 years.
On Remembrance Day (Friday 11 November), the Parish Council Chair will lay wreaths in the village and at Sullington Church.
We look forward to seeing spectators on all these occasions.
