We have now completed the first phase of this project – the initial clearing of the site. We found a lovely Magnolia which we hope will flourish now that it has been set free. Through the spring and summer we will continue to remove regrowth and roots to prepare for planting bulbs and perennials in the autumn. We have created a pile of cuttings at the back of the site which will provide a habitat for wildlife and we intend to plant a climber to grow up the tree stump. Given a bit of time and care we hope this area in the centre of our village can become an asset instead of an eyesore.
