Have you clocked that a new mural is coming very soon to Storrington?

Creativity and imagination is unlocked with this art mural.  It’s an exciting and unifying piece of new street art coming to the historic town centre.  Storca-tūn or Estorchetone in Old English, historically has its name linked to the homestead of storks.  Preparations have begun and the wall of the commercial property has been repainted in a soft blue-grey that will form the sky backdrop for this stork artwork.

A good investment to brighten up our lovely town centre. The £3500 approximate total cost is a lot of money.  But when you stop and think, this distils to covering the essential planning application process, scaffolding, the artist and a helper, anti-vandalism measures, and the interpretation board.  This information panel links the mural to the history and the European Stork Village award in May 2025.

If you feel inspired, please consider contributing any small amount through JustGiving. You can see the proposed image on the Just Giving page.  This is a local community project by the community and for the community.

The storks, their nests and habitats help us to focus on the importance of the natural world underpinning our whole lives.  Don’t miss out on the experience of the White Stork & Nature Festival bank holiday Saturday 23rd May.  Come and immerse yourself in all the stalls and engage with the conversation.
