Work is currently underway to form a new Sussex Wildlife Trust (SWT) regional group, centred on Storrington and covering the Arun Valley north of the Downs and south of Horsham.

The group will be formed from local SWT members to support the key objectives and activities of the trust in our region.

An annual programme of events will be created to include indoor meetings (external/internal speakers and other formats), outdoor reserve visits and walks, fund raising events, and practical involvement in SWT initiatives (citizen science projects, surveys, education, etc.).

It is also possible that some members may wish to volunteer to physically help at SWT reserves and other nearby sites, and opportunities will be sought to regularly participate in such activities.

Non-members will be welcome to join us at most events and we plan to build close working relationships with other conservation and wildlife organisations through our region.

During the first half of 2021 we are testing the level of interest in this new regional group by advertising through SWT and local channels; a committee will then be formed to organise and run the new group.

If you are interested at this stage, please email us at swtstorringtonregion@gmail.com.

Thank you
