News From Storrington In Bloom
Have a look at the beautiful Judas Tree (Cercis siliquastrum) in the corner of the carpark behind Waitrose.
During autumn 2024 Storrington In Bloom, with the help of HDC workers, cleared this bed of years of scrub growth, ivy and rubbish (cans, bottles, vapes, food wrappers and a pair of nasty trainers!) to allow this lovely tree to flourish.
We added new top soil, covered it with a weed suppressing membrane, planted 5 new shrubs and topped it off with bark supplied by HDC.
I hope you will agree this is now a lovely asset to our village.
We also renovated the small bed by the bus stop, removing a nasty prickly shrub which had been attacking the residents using the slope to the car park.
