A Chance to Meet Storrington’s Hidden Assets

An Opportunity to Meet Storrington’s Volunteers

Come along and learn what these amazing groups do for our community and the volunteering roles that are available.

They do so much more than you would think

The groups are sometimes part of a national charity while others are very local and small. The services and support cover young people, elderly people, those with ill health or disabilities, people without their own transport, those affected by the cost of living. Other groups care for our environment tackling the village’s ever-present traffic issues or working to keep community areas available and accessible to all.

These groups ensure the history of the village is available to all now and in the future, provide homes for swifts, give our children values and skills, raise funds for initiatives and ongoing projects, relieve the isolation of the elderly and make our high street and surrounding areas bright and welcoming. Give support and help people overcome adversity, fight to give us clean air, teach and support us in our recycling endeavours.

Want to use your skills or learn new ones?

These groups require volunteers for a very wide range of activities with skills that include driving, answering phones, clearing undergrowth, medical response, maintaining websites and social media presence, marketing, finance, and many others.

More than twenty of the local volunteering groups will be present and include:

National Trust – Sullington Warren, Storrington Traffic Group, Family Support Work, East Clayton Farm (Lorica Trust), Storrington Greenfingers, HDC Voluntary Sector Support, Splash, Storrington & District Museum, Friends of Storrington Primary School, Storrington Conservation Society, Storrington Village Minibus, Sussex Wildlife Trust, Storrington, Rotary Club of Storrington & Pulborough District, Girlguiding, Storrington Area Help Scheme, Storrington Community Market, Storrington Community Speedwatch, Storrington in Bloom, Chiltington First Responders, Probus Club of Storrington & District, Royal Voluntary Service, Sussex Green Living and Sandgate Conservation Society.
