The Government aims to reimagine the role of Post Office “to ensure it continues to meet the evolving needs of our society“.
Modern life is increasingly “digital”, using the internet etc. This can be a challenge for some, particularly for those who lack access to online services. Some people prefer face-to-face interactions. The Post Office, with an extensive network, can help with these kind of difficulties and ensure people are not left behind in the modern digital age.
The Government has published a Green Paper which seeks to open discussion on the future of the Post Office: the services provided, modernisation, strengthening its network and the management of the Post Office.
Local MP Andrew Griffiths recently met local rural postmasters at Fittleworth Stores and you can learn more about the possible future of the Post Office and what was discussed at that meeting at this link.
