Glebe PPG Newsletter April 2020

PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP UPDATE

Welcome to our third newsletter, which I apologise is of reduced content due to the current situation we find ourselves in.

The new surgery was due to open on Tuesday 17th March giving access to patients. However a decision was made on Monday 16th that due to the worldwide pandemic and following NHS advice, the Glebe, in line with other local doctors’ surgeries, closed their doors to the public. The medical staff are still undertaking telephone consultations but face to face appointments with their patients will only be in the case of an emergency for now.

Due to the unprecedented times we are all currently facing, I cannot stress how important it is that we all pull together to help each other. The PPG will give the practice every support they require as and when needed.

We must all do our bit to check on our elderly or vulnerable neighbours to ensure they are safe and well. Even the smallest help can be a lifeline.

We must also follow the Government guidelines imposed during this emergency crisis. If you are able to exercise once a day as permitted, this is benefucial not only for your mental health but your general wellbeing. We are so lucky to have such wonderful countryside on our doorstep to enable us to get out in the fresh air.

Finally, can I thank everyone who showed interest in joining the PPG. We have now reached the required numbers at the present time.
