The Storrington & Sullington Annual Parish meeting is being held at 7pm on Wednesday 23rd April 2025 in the Parish Hall.

The Parish Meeting is a meeting of the people of the parish: it is not a Council meeting but a meeting enabled by the Council to provide a forum for local people to discuss matters affecting their parish.

This year’s agenda will include a discussion about the local role as a European Stork Village and its contribution to wildlife sustainability, led by Laura Vaughan-Hirsch.

Laura Vaughan-Hirsch is involved in wildlife conservation and education surrounding that topic, particularly as Project Manager of the White Stork Project at Knepp Wildland which focuses on the reintroduction of white storks to the UK. Her work requires extensive collaboration with wildlife conservation organizations and private landowners.  It includes engaging people, especially young people, with wildlife and nature recovery.  She has a background in science and education, with a degree in Biology from Royal Holloway University.  She also worked as a Science Teacher and Middle Leader in a school in Sussex.

Also on the agenda:

  • Presentation from Adrian Berendt a trustee for the leading transport charity, Campaign for Better Transport, and a discussion about safer roads and speed limits.
  • Storrington & Sullington Parish Council Annual Report from Mark Cramer, Chairman of the Council

Following the meeting, everyone is invited to stay for refreshments and a chat with contributors and Councillors.
